Below are 10 career paths described in the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Occupational Outlook Handbook. For each one, we explain what the job involves, how employer-approved AI tools might be used with human oversight, and what qualifications BLS describes beyond a high school diploma. Requirements can vary by state and employer, so always check the official source and your state's rules.
1. Wind Turbine Service Technician
Wind turbine technicians install, inspect, maintain, and repair wind turbines. The work is physical, often done at heights, and involves mechanical and electrical systems.
How AI might be used
Some employers use software that analyzes sensor data to flag equipment that may need attention. A technician still inspects the equipment, makes the repair decision, and follows safety procedures.

2. Medical Assistant

BLS says information security analysts typically need a bachelor's degree in a computer-related field along with related work experience, and employers may prefer professional certification. Some people build experience in other IT roles first. A diploma plus a certificate does not guarantee employment in this field. Advanced certifications also have experience rules: for example, ISC2's CISSP requires at least five years of cumulative, full-time experience in two or more of its eight domains, so it is not an entry-level credential. 6. Paralegal and Legal Assistant
Paralegals and legal assistants support lawyers by organizing files, researching, and preparing documents. Lawyers remain responsible for legal advice and final work.
