How we protect your information
This page is maintained by Learn Star Academy to answer common security, privacy, and compliance questions about our platform. It is editable project content, not an independent certification.
Access & authentication
Students, staff, and observer accounts each sign in with their own credentials. Sessions are managed by our authentication provider and time out after 60 minutes of inactivity.
Administrative actions are gated by server-side role checks. Students cannot change their legal name, date of birth, or student ID once enrolled.
Data we collect & how we use it
Learn Star Academy collects the information needed to enroll you, deliver coursework, issue grades and transcripts, and meet accreditation requirements. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
We do not sell personal information. Educational records are handled in line with FERPA.
Platform & hosting
The Academy is built on the Lovable platform with a Supabase-managed Postgres database and edge functions. Row-level security policies restrict each request to the records the signed-in user is allowed to see.
Payments are processed by Stripe; we never store full payment card numbers.
Subprocessors & integrations
Current third-party services include Lovable Cloud / Supabase (hosting, database, auth, storage), Stripe (payments), Twilio (SMS messaging), ElevenLabs (text-to-speech), and Google Analytics (website analytics). Each is bound by its own terms and data protection commitments.
Incident response & vulnerability reporting
If you believe you have found a security issue affecting Learn Star Academy, please email security@learnstar.com with details so we can investigate. Please do not publicly disclose the issue until we have had a reasonable opportunity to respond.
Shared responsibility & contact
Lovable / Supabase provide the underlying platform, hosting, and infrastructure controls. Learn Star Academy is responsible for academic content, account administration, and how data is used within the application. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
