Competition and Assessment Engine
The Teacher Control software puts you in complete control of the classroom. The Activity controls let you choose from the pre-packaged activity titles or search by state specific standards, objectives or expectations for questions from the 30,000 item database.
Scheme Tools let you preset any number of timing, naming and scoring profiles that are readily available in a drop-down list to simplify the steps to start an activity. You can create fast-paced, highly competitive schemes for AP classes or slow the question timing down for more complex items or for introducing a new topic in a pre-assessment.
You can even decide whether to track student performance using a unique student PIN to join the activity or just allow students to anonymously join in using Open Registration.
Once a competition-style activity begins, students receive points based on the exact instant they answer the question. The longer they take, the fewer points they receive – if they answer correctly! However, they won’t know this until the timer reaches zero. The program will keep them on task by offering clues or directed assistance to the correct answer, and students can change their answer any time during the point countdown.
Get ready for the excitement in your class during these highly engaging, and highly effective activities.
Of course, when it is time for a ‘no-fun’ assessment, the software offers two Quiz formats. One presents questions in a synchronous format to all students at the same time just as in a competitive activity; only these questions don’t provide clues and only award a single point for accuracy. No timing rewards here. Or, you can select the ‘Self-Paced’ quiz format giving each student control to scroll back and forth between questions at their own pace. You control how long the class has to complete the quiz through a simple progress monitoring window and can end the quiz for all students with the click of a button.
